Lifesaving Society Canada supports the athletes named to the national team roster through the high performance manager and the members of the technical leaders committee.

First formed in 2013, the committee works with athletes throughout the year to assist their development in lifesaving sport, working in conjunction with each athlete and her/his other sport coaches. Committee members are named for a two-year cycle. These individuals are nominated based on their experience as managers, coaches and athletes across the country. Specialist coaches are also all alumni of National or Development Teams.

Members of the technical leaders committee include the head coach; specialist coaches for swim, run and craft; and, a data analyst. The committee works in partnership with the national team selection committee to name athletes to the national team roster and to the teams competing at the Rescue series world lifesaving championships and RLSS Commonwealth Lifesaving championships.

The technical leaders committee is a requirement of Sports Canada under the sports funding and accountability framework and is aimed at providing a customized and individual approach to the development of training plans and monitoring of the progression of high performance athletes on an ongoing basis.
