A Century of Saving Lives

For 100 years The Lifesaving Society has been Canada's "Lifeguarding Experts". The Society works to prevent drowning and water-related injury through:

  • lifesaving training programs
  • Water Smart® public education
  • aquatic safety management services
  • water incident research
  • lifesaving sport competitions.
The Society is a national registered charity and volunteer organization with deep historical roots in communities across Canada. The Society's breadth of expertise comes from its experience in the field working side by side our volunteers, affiliates and operators of aquatic facilities. Through ten branches serving all the provinces and territories, the Lifesaving Society certifies more than 700,000 participants every year through its programs.
