The International Life Saving Federation’s World Conference on Drowning Prevention is coming to Canada. In fact, this is the first time the event has been held in North America.

Hosted in beautiful Vancouver by the Lifesaving Society Canada.

A unique and cost-effective opportunity for Canadians to learn first-hand from world experts in research, education and community action: best practices and proven drowning prevention strategies, and the latest water rescue research and first aid techniques.

Who should attend?

Aquatic professionals and other municipal leaders responsible for public health and safety issues in their communities. Several organizations — including the British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA) and Swimming/Natation Canada — are planning their meetings and conferences for Vancouver to take advantage of attending WCDP 2017.

Share globally. Prevent locally.

The World Health Organization has placed drowning on the health agendas of nations around the world. In Canada, the Lifesaving Society has engaged key stakeholders in the formation of a Canadian Drowning Prevention Coalition to create a National Drowning Prevention Plan. Community action will be an essential element in any successful drowning prevention strategy in Canada. Come and be part of it.
